Melodic Expressions specializes in private piano lessons.  The owner Shelby Wimet-Himelrick has over 25 years experience playing piano with over 11 years of training and theory.  She has experience playing clarinet, guitar and in voice although her passion by far is the piano.  Over the years she has participated in vocal competitions, church choirs, and as a pianist for a children's church choir.

Melodic Expressions was started to return to something she has always loved.  To be able to become what she wanted to be at age 7 Shelby truly enjoys what she does.  She has taken her education and previous programs she has set into motion for others to learn from and has set the same programs into motion for her piano students. 

Everyone learns differently and by giving private lessons Shelby has the ability to individualize the needs of each student to their learning abilities and strengths as well as their likes. Since lessons are individualized she is able to work one on one with children including those that have attention disorders and motor skill issues giving each student a sense of accomplishment and achievement at their own level. Students will learn to read music, timing, keys, and best of all learn to play the piano and express themselves through music.  

Music can be an outlet for expression when it may not come out in other ways; hence the name Melodic Expressions.
